"Szkoła na Roślinach" - School on Plants
proveg.orgThe "Szkoła na Roślinach" is a program by the ProVeg Polska Foundation that helps schools, kindergartens, dormitories, and catering companies introduce tasty, nutritious plant-based meals. The goal is for children in the cafeteria to receive food that provides energy for learning and playing, teaches good habits, and simultaneously puts less strain on the climate. The program does not promise a revolution overnight - it provides concrete tools: recipes, training, calculators, and support in menu planning.
The backdrop is a change in collective nutrition. From September 1, 2026, new standards will apply in educational institutions (regulation from February 16, 2026). ProVeg helps navigate this change practically: an e-book with recipes tailored to the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, a checklist and guide for kitchens and management, a product quantity calculator (to plan purchases and reduce food waste), and training for kitchen staff. The training combines theory (balancing plant protein, facts and myths about soy) with practice (substitutes for meat, eggs, and dairy, recipes according to nutritional standards).
For parents, there are free webinars — the next one on September 24, 2026, from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM, under the slogan "Plant-Based Cuisine – Will Our Children Be Full?". The website also features separate material zones: for kitchen staff and management, for directors and teachers, and for parents (including a presentation for meetings, a guide on how to talk about the new menu). Institutions can also order an individual menu consultation or a competition in which students create a plant-based dish for the cafeteria.
