University of Vienna: from October event catering must be vegetarian or vegan

According to official university pages (Event Management and the Sustainability Office), from October 2026 rules include: no meat or fish in event catering, preference for seasonal, regional and organic food and drink, and tap water instead of bottled still water. The guideline applies to events organised by the University of Vienna or in its name by staff — from conferences to work meetings. The university also publishes a list of catering firms that meet the criteria, including fully vegan providers.
