Do vegans live longer?

Short answer

Observationally, plant-based diets link to lower risk of heart disease and some cancers, but “longer life” also depends on not smoking, movement and healthcare. A diet label cannot promise extra years.

Adventists and other vegetarian cohorts often live longer — they also smoke and drink less. Some of the benefit is the whole lifestyle, not just skipping steak.

A fair promise: less saturated fat from processed meat, more fibre. Those are measured effects, without immortality marketing.
