Does “organic” mean vegan?

Short answer

No. Organic describes farming methods, not the absence of animal ingredients. Organic cheese, honey and eggs are still not vegan.

An organic mark and a vegan mark are two different stamps. A product can be vegan and not organic (conventional soy tofu) or organic and animal-derived.

If you want both, look for both. Do not guess from packaging colour.
