Why don’t vegans eat meat?
Short answer
Because eating meat requires breeding and killing animals that vegans refuse to treat as products. Environmental and health arguments often follow — but the core of veganism is ethical.
Industrial farming means crowding, yield-driven breeding and slaughter at a young age, including under “humane” labels. Veganism answers: if you can live without it, you do not buy it.
You do not need to hate hunters or a grandmother who cooks broth. You only need to step off a supply chain you can actually leave.
