What replaces meat, dairy and eggs?
Short answer
Meat: legumes, tofu, tempeh, seitan, plant burgers on the grill. Dairy: fortified plant drinks, coconut or soy yoghurt, hummus instead of cream cheese. Eggs: tofu scramble, aquafaba and flax in baking.
You do not need every analogue on day one. Dinners work with lentils, chickpeas, beans and tofu — cheaper and higher in fibre than a ready-made patty. For a barbecue: corn, mushrooms, seitan or a pea burger (check the bun and sauce).
Coffee milk: barista oat or soy. Sandwich cheese is often the hardest — hummus, cheese-free pesto or roasted-pepper spread close the gap faster than an expensive analogue. Eggs in baking: 1 tablespoon ground flax + 3 tablespoons water, or aquafaba. Tofu/tempeh/seitan and egg-swap details live in other questions — this is the map, not the textbook.
